This interview traces the intellectual background and main research incursions of Fernanda Beigel, an Argentine soci-ologist, main researcher at the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Tecnicas (CONICET) and professor at the Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. Taking as reference the relation-ship that the author established with Pierre Bourdieu’s “work”, the dialogue initiated allows us to identify the impor-tance of the French author’s analytical scheme in the development of an original sociological research program on the Argentine social reality, with a special focus on the cultural and academic space of the country. In addition to allowing an incursion into the genesis of sociological questions mobilized in Fernanda Beigel’s research, the interview identi-fies the relevance of national and international networks of intellectuals that underlie the practical implementation of established research agendas. The links and exchanges under discussion give very suggestive indications about the modalities of recreation of Bourdieu’s legacy in the sociological research promoted in Argentina.
