The teaching of Anthropology and the formation of anthropologists, in Brazil, today
from a primordial theme to a (possible) field of (anthropological) research

the teaching of anthropology has been the subject of reflections since the beginning of the discipline in Brazil and has been fundamental to its institutionalization process in the country. However, despite its importance, the academic approach to the theme faces serious difficulties in terms of theoretical performance. Until the 1990s, such an interest was dependent on the production of an institutional history of anthropology, with the beginning of a series of publica-tions by the Brazilian Anthropological Association focused on the formation of anthropologists, this interest seems to respond now to the analysis of the organizational aspects of the “field of anthropology” in this context. In addition to analyzing the subordinate treatment given to the teaching of anthropology within the bibliographic production of the discipline, and indicates some challenges and paths, especially regarding the possibility of considering teaching as an object of research in its own right.
