La littérature de coalitions internationales aborde très peu la coopération entre les pays en développement et néglige l’analyse de la politique domestique pour comprendre les résultats des échanges qui engagent ces nations. Ces lacunes découlent: (1) de la croissante mais encore nouvelle importance obtenue par ces pays dans les forums multilatéraux comme, par exemple, à l’Organisation Mondiale du Commerce (OMC); (2) de la croyance théorique selon laquelle les pays en développement sont sans importance pour la compréhension des relations internationales; et (3) de l’accent mis par les théories traditionnelles sur les coalitions dans les thèmes de la sécurité militaire, qui est moins perméable aux demandes de groupes domestiques. Cet article proposera un agenda de recherche sur ce sujet
