Abstract

The literature on international coalitions pays little attention to cooperation between developing coun-tries and neglects the analysis of domestic politics to understand bargains among States. This happens because (1) developing countries only recently started to be more active in international institutions, such as the World Trade Organization (WTO); (2) some theories believe developing countries are irrelevant to understand international relations; and (3) traditional theories on coalitions emphasizes international security, which is more isolated from domestic groups’ demands. This article will advocate a research agenda about that matter.
