Despite the plausible relationship between individual psychological differences and patterns of political behavior, there are few studies which focus on this particular form of conditioning the engagement of citizens in different forms of civic activism. Even rarer are studies emphasizing the relationship between personality and the so called contestatory forms of mobilization. This article discusses the reasons for this incipient production and the potentials of this in-terface between psychology and political science on the explanatory power of phenomena linked to general political behavior and, more specifically, on participatory practices related to political protest.
