Abstract

Many of the changes that have been seen in the management of the democratic States show a greater involvement of citizens with public politics at a local level. This finding has stimulated countless investigations seeking to analyze its impact on society. This article presents a biblio­graphic review of dissertations and papers about such greater participation of citizens in public management. It also highlights, among other issues, the topics that have been approached. In doing so, it aims at contributing for the divulgement and expansion of such studies, as well as developing democratic practices in the country.
