Estruturas de dominação, integração social e muito mais
os confrontos entre as noções de capital social de Bourdieu e de Coleman

Com a grande expansão do uso do conceito de capital social em diversas frentes, vem crescendo também a literatura crítica a respeito. O principal objetivo deste artigo é justamente demonstrar alguns problemas decorrentes do uso descontextualizado do conceito, que desconsidera suas bases teóricas e epistemoló-gicas: em Coleman e Bourdieu, os significados do conceito são distintos. Por isso, o texto apresenta, sinteticamente, as noções de capital social fundamentadas nesses autores, e destaca casos exemplares de posicionamentos críticos ao conceito de Coleman e seguidores, em geral com referências positivas e alu-sivas ao conceito de Bourdieu. Por fim, traz uma síntese dessa discussão mais centrada nas relações entre capital social, escolarização e recrutamento de “elites”
