Resumo

Em 1951, M aurice D uverger p u b lico u Les partis politiques,livro que viria a ser considerado um a das principais contribuições originais aos estudos do fenôm eno políd co -p artid ário . M as, a despeito da in­discutível im p o rtân cia de sua teoria sobre os p artid o s e os sistemas partidários, um a questão a ser con­siderada é saber em que m edida o m odelo de análise organizacional dos partidos desenhado peio au to r aind a seria aplicável aos estudos atuais. Neste artigo, defendo a posição de que essa obra de D uverger c o n tin u a sendo referência indispensável do ponto de vista do desenvolvimento histórico dessa linha de investigação e, consequentem ente, seu estudo aind a deve ser estim ulado e exigido de to d o s aqueles: que p rocuram se especializar nessa área. A lém disso, p rocuro ta m b ém arg u m en ta r que alguns aspectos de seu m odelo co n tin u a m válidos e seriam extrem am ente úteis se aplicados nas atuais pesquisas em píricas sobre as organizações partidárias
