Réexamen de la "théorie générale" des partis politiques de maurice duverger

En 1951, Maurice Duverger publie Les partis politiques, livre qui serait considéré l’une des principales contributions originales aux études du phénomène de la politique partisane. Mais, malgré l’importance incontestable de sa théorie sur les partis et les systèmes partisans, une question à être considérée est dans quelle mesure le modèle d’analyse organisationnelle des partis conçu par l’auteur serait applicable aux études actuelles. Dans cet article, je soutiens que cette oeuvre de Duverger demeure une référence indispensable du point de vue du développement historique de ce coûtant de la recherche et, par conséquent, son étude doit être encouragée et exigée de tous ceux qui cherchent à se spécialiser dans ce domaine. Par ailleurs, je tente aussi de soutenir que certains aspects de son modèle demeurent valables ét seraient extrêmement utiles si appliqués aux recherches empiriques actuelles sur les organisations partisanes.
