Evidence Based Public Policies (EBPP) are those produced from rigorous and systematic data. Their supply and demand have grown so widely all over the world that it became commonplace to recognize those processes as a “Movement”. This article has the
following objectives: (a) to explain the origins and spread of this Movement; (b) to analyze the role played by the several kinds of institutions that have been working to promote the international diffusion of this agenda; and (c) to discuss the limits and broken promises of the EBPP Movement.
