Abstract

This study presents a bibliographical review of “feminist media studies”, from female authors, works and fundamental empirical objects. It begins with discussions about entertainment and popular culture which founded the field, but its main focus is to show researches concerned with relations between media, feminism and politics that are more involved in journalistic practices. We mobilized studies that are concerned with the participation of women in communication and their representation as news subjects, paying close attention to the visibility of women who are candidates and /or already elected and feminist activists.
