Abstract

On the disappearance of the Italian Philosopher Norberto Bobbio on January the 10th, 2004, the present essay aims at briefly presenting some dimensions of his intellectual and political figure. Emphasis is placed on his condition of public intellectual, role performed for more than fifty years of public life in Italy, with implications on the international scientific debate.
