Abstract

This interview took place when Isaac Joseph was in Brazil for the last time, participating in ANPOCS’ 23rd Annual Conference. The author of Erving Goffman and Microsociologytalks about the Chicago School’s influence on French thought. He underscores its relevance to understanding and analyzing the social problems of immigration, urbanization, and con­temporary forms of cultural pluralism.
