Desindustrialização:
balanço da literatura recente na sociologia e história

O artigo realiza um balanço bibliográfico sobre processos de desindustrialização. Este debate envolve transformações econômicas e sociais relativas à redução da importância da indústria na atividade econômica na segunda metade do século XX. Coletaram-se artigos sobre o tema nas áreas de sociologia e história, em língua inglesa e publicados entre 2014 e 2023. Em seguida, foram extraídos os artigos e livros mais citados por essa bibliografia recente. Partindo desses corpora, selecionaram-se quarenta e três artigos e cinco livros para análise. A literatura converge no impacto da perda de empregos industriais, no foco em casos do Norte Atlântico, no uso de métodos qualitativos e numa ênfase na perspectiva de trabalhadores e comunidades. Como fatores causais, a literatura destaca a realocação produtiva e o aumento de produtividade industrial. Lacunas são a falta de trabalhos em múltiplos níveis analíticos, poucas discussões fora do eixo Norte-Atlântico e pouca problematização da agência de Estados e empresas.
